Fifa Final Draw Red Carpet Welcome[2009]
espAfrika is proud to have produced the Red Carpet Welcome Event which was the opening of the FIFA™ Final Draw in Cape Town. Guests were entertained by stalk walkers, giant African puppets, dancers, drummers and minstrels whilst they walked through the manmade table mountain structure that was built as a tunnel before the red carpet. High profile celebrities such as Charlize Theron, David Beckham, Matthew Booth, Lucas Radebe and many others walked the lavish red carpet along Coen Steytler where a stunning backdrop of South Africa and Cape Town shone behind the guests as the 300 strong media took pictures and interviewed the guests. This event took great logistic strength, building life size structures in one of African’s biggest wind tunnels (Coen Steytler Avenue) and weaving indigenous fynbos into the life size table mountain structure. It is an event that Cape Town and South African’s alike should be proud to have hosted as the beginning to the FIFA™ 2010 World Cup. Cape Town is ready!
