Lindsay Ann Rhoda-Cupido
CTIJF Talent Booker
After pursuing a degree in English and Philosophy at the University of Cape Town, Lindsay went on to follow her passion for music by studying jazz and performance at the South African College of Music. During her second year of studies, she started her journey with the Cape Town International Jazz Festival by working as a SAMRO runner at the festival for the next three years. This is when she fell in love with the exciting and sometimes chaotic ‘behind-the-scenes’ side of live music, and realised her place wasn’t in front of the microphone but instead, behind the many programmes, schedules and contracts that make a world-class festival like the CTIJF possible.
After working in the jazz section at Look & Listen music store for two years, Lindsay was invited to become Talent Assistant at espAfrika in 2007. Today, Lindsay heads up the Talent Department for the CTIJF as the festival’s Talent Booker.
In her spare time, she’s recently completed a diploma in Pastry from Silwood School of Cookery, and regularly blesses the office with her delicately delicious baked goods.
