Edgar Muzah & Friends
Edgar “Eddiebass” Muzah is musician/bass player originally from Zimbabwe but now based in Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape. Edgar currently plays for Take Note, one of South Africa’s youth bands. He has done a number of tours around South Africa and the world as a session musician for different artists. Edgar has also worked with a number of artists as a producer and composer, one of the recent albums he worked on with Zimbabwean world music artist Willis Wataffi received 3 ZIMA (Zimbabwe Music Awards) awards in March 2016. Edgar is currently working on his first solo project called Project Dimensions where he features most of the artists he has worked with, produced and written music for. This project has received recognition in Finland, England and Germany where he is set to tour in the first quarter of 2017.
As he is carefully paving his career path Edgar has played and worked with some of South Africa’s and the world’s best musicians such as Asanda Bam, Willis Wataffi (Zimbabwe), Afrika Revenge (Zimbabwe), Nomhle Nongogo(2013 SAMA award nominee),Take Note, Thabz Soulstar, Afrika Revenge(Zimbabwe),Xolani Faku, Bongani Tulwana, Andile B(Spirit Music),Silvester Funani(Joyous Celebration), Fohloza, Unathi Mzekeli (Joyous Celebration), Pelo Bala (Joyous Celebration), Siyasanga Kobese (Joyous Celebration), Andile Sawule and the 1266(ECAVC records),Chumani Ngojo(2015 Crown gospel award winner),Phumlani Mtiti(2013 SAMA award winner with his duo Ological Studies), multi award winner and platinum selling afro soul rising star Nathi and Black Tye to name a few. Edgar has also recorded with Take Note and Black Tye on their studio projects and has recently done a DVD recording with gospel artist L.G Lukas. I owe every step of my journey as a musician to the giants (people I have worked with) that mentored me to be the musician that i am, I am grateful to the great Chaka Chawasarira and Oliver Mtukudzi for being fathers to my craft, says Edgar!
